Welcome Kalee Jo! - July 7, 2024

Welcome Kalee Jo, our new Middle and High School youth minister!

We have been blessed over the last couple of months to have Fr. Andrew head up the youth ministry program here. That said, we are very excited to have Kalee Jo Probasco join our family here at Prince of Peace as the new youth minister. I encourage you to get to know her. In addition to finding ways to continue to grow the high school ministry, we will be increasing our middle school ministry. Look for details to come! I’ll let Kalee Jo introduce herself:

kalee joHello!
My name is Kalee Jo Probasco, and I am so excited to be the new Middle and High School Youth Minister for Prince of Peace! I grew up in a small town a few hours away in Minneapolis, KS. Growing up, there was no shortage of fun and mayhem for my parents in our blended family with ten kids! From Minneapolis, I went on to attend the University of Kansas, where I studied English Literature and Communication Studies. That’s where I truly fell in love with writing and fine-tuned my appreciation for all things coffee-related! KU provided me with so many opportunities, but the most important one was my conversion to Catholicism at the St. Lawrence Center. I realized I never knew true peace until I was in the arms of Jesus in His Church. My confirmation saint was Saint Anne, the Mother of Mary. After college, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA, to serve as a missionary for Vagabond Missions where I served inner-city teens in hopes of introducing them to and bringing them into deeper relationships with Christ. These last two years with Vagabond in youth ministry have been such a blessing, which is why I am so excited to be the youth minister here! To me, there is no greater joy than the ability to serve those who are going to go out and change the world. I am a product of my generation, so I love books, music, movies, or really any piece of media I can get my hands on and spend too much of my free time calling my younger siblings to explain slang terms that I don’t understand. I am really looking forward to starting in July! I can’t wait to meet all of you!
